Basic Specifications

As a small rural fire department, versatility was most important when specing a vehicle. This combination pumper/tanker allows this vehicle to be a back up for either the front line pumper or front line tanker. With a 1250 gpm pump and several preconnect lines, they are ready to fight fire at a moments notice. However, with a 2500 gallon tank and 3 dump valves, it is ready to serve as a water supply vehicle. Note the aesthetics of the side dumps as they are hidden behind brushed stainless steel panels. A portable tank is stored on the passenger side. A Sterling Acterra chassis was selected and with plenty of weight capacity on the rear axles, the decision was made to go with Rosenbauer’s hot dipped galvanized tank, complete with a 20 year warranty. This resulted is a nearly $ 5,000 savings.
